I just turned 65.
And then comes the big question, of course: What do you want for your birthday?
Organized as I am, I was prepared for this.
I actually started a gift list (for myself). Adding to it now and then, because deciding at the last moment is not a good idea.
But, the list was still empty.
Why? Because I actually have everything.
What more could I wish for beyond:
- Two healthy, grown-up daughters who are doing well in life.
- A grandchild.
- A wonderful wife.
- And on top of that?
I look good, I’m smart, and I’m a pleasant man.
We went out to dinner together, and yet I got a birthday gift. What did you expect.
A number of cards to choose from. One or more.
And honestly?
It was spot on.
All gifts that had nothing to do with material things,
- but everything to do with doing things together,
- with activities, with experiences.
I couldn’t wish for a better gift.
Thank you.
