In various blogs, I sometimes give the impression that I read a lot, but honestly? I actually read far too little. And when I do read, it rarely—almost never—happens that I pick up a book twice. Yet there are exceptions.
‘Tuesdays with Morrie’ is one such book. I read it for the first time a year or two ago and have now read it again completely. Not a thick tome, but a smoothly written story with short chapters. Small book, big impact.
Recently, I picked it up again, and once more, it touched me.
Soon, we are going out to dinner with two couples to celebrate my 65th birthday. We have agreed to give them all this book as a gift.
Not because it is “great literature”, but because it touches the beauty of life in a simple and warm way: love, relationships, principles—and the finiteness of everything.
You know how it will end, and yet it remains positive.
“Tuesdays with Morrie” is not a heavy or somber book, but rather an invitation to live life with more love and attention.
In short, it is a gem that at least deserved this little blog.
Sometimes a small book is all you need to pause and reflect on what really matters.
