Here we go again

It’s been far too long.

We got dressed up for a nice dinner out, and afterwards we had a happy reunion.

Choosing a saree with Geetha at Jayalakshmi, one of the biggest saree stores in Kochi.

Here you can see Miranda choosing in the “up to 5,000 rupees” section.

In the parking lot at Goodwill, Geetha’s team was waiting for us to take our measurements, so everything would be ready that evening for our departure to Madurai.

Visiting the Hill Palace Museum in Kochi

Heading to Coimbatore to visit the Isha Yoga Center.

On our way to the “Madurai Gateway” resort, we stopped to try a coconut.

A visit to Thirumalai Nayakkar Palace, Madurai.

Exploring Madurai’s flower, vegetable and banana markets, and enjoying street food in the evening.

Miranda getting her saree ready for our visit to the Meenakshi Temple.

First, we visited Arulmigu Koodal Azhagar Temple.

Some impressions from the Meenakshi Temple. Taking pictures inside was forbidden.

Two days of doing nothing in Thekkady at Blanket Days Resort.

Once again, a houseboat in the Kerala backwaters.

Our Valentine’s Day on the houseboat.

At the end of our two days on this boat, we were suddenly asked to record a video about our experience.

Next to this you can see the result in two takes. The first take wasn’t long enough.

And yes — we exaggerated a bit… (it wasn’t that super perfect).

This is how we moored for our first night, and a walk would have been welcome. The place was really in a state of disrepair, as you can see in the video, and the only way to get off was via the tree trunks which we did not. Quite typically Indian, in a way…

On the way to Francis & Annett, where we exchanged gifts and said goodbye to Shijar.

Exploring Cochin’s Paradesi Synagogue.

Visiting Mattancherry Palace.

Late-night visit to a Christian cemetery.

Photoshoot at the Chinese fishing nets in Fort Kochi.

Meeting Thomas at Lulu Mall and unexpectedly running into Francis’s family.

Two handsome guys, and a few other people. Here the full story

Sree Bhadra Devi Temple

The ceremony normally takes place inside the temple and is not accessible to non-Hindus. This time, the ceremony was held outside, in front of the temple, organised by Geetha. We were part of a small group of guests who were allowed to attend. Out of respect, we only took a few photos afterwards.

The Paramara Devi Temple during a Kathakali performance.

Our last day in Kochi: a visit to Geetha’s parents and family, a trip to Lulu Mall by Uber auto-rickshaw, and our very first-ever visit to Starbucks.

Our final dinner together, saying goodbye and making promises to return.

We brought a suitcase full of gifts from India to Belgium, and we felt truly honoured to hand them out.
